The lives of Revision3 interns.
While Tyler had gave me an introduction in the post for the Farewell of the Summer Interns, I haven’t touched this blog at all. There hasn’t even been one post about the 2008 Fall Internship at Revision3. Since this is my last hour here at Revision3 as I finish up my internship term today, it wouldn’t feel right to leave without giving my 2 cents of my experience.
As a late 2nd Generation Intern (Summer Intern for a week) as well as a full 3rd Generation intern (Fall Intern), I had a great ride with Revision3. Not only was I able to share the same beneifits being an intern @ Revision3 as AJ Vaynerchuk did in the summer, I experienced a lot more than I thought I ever would.
I was able to appear in shows such as popSiren and Scam School, as well as have my own post roll and got into other company sponsored antics.
However, what made this fall internship more unique from the summer internship was the “Company Restructuring during the ecnomic turmoil.” One of my mentors told me during that time of uncertainty and chaos that “this is the time when you would probably learn the most,” and she was right. During that time I got to see how a company bounces back on its feet and continues foward. However what was more gratifying was watching the people affected by the layoffs at Revision3 moving forward as well.
While I learned a great amount of the infurstructure of a start-up, I also got to meet an abundant amount of people within the Tech world. Not only from Revision3, but from Digg, Smashface, Rocketboom, TWIT, and many other great people that share the same passion about technology as I do.
In the end, I owe a lot to Revision3 and will miss working with everyone there. Yet somehow I think Mau is the only one that misses me, because all the beer I hand out on Fridays.

Hey everyone, sorry that this blog has not been as active as it should be. We interns get pounded with so much work that we have no time for silly things like blogging (just kidding). Anyways, the office has been a little crazy lately and there are a ton of new interns for the fall and winter so I think we can get this blog going again! Videos and photos and more to come very soon!
-Tyler!
Here’s a cool pic for your entertainment!
As I write this post, I am frantically trying to pack for my 8AM flight out of Oakland Airport. I am going on a great two-week vacation to Priest Lake, Idaho. Tonight a bunch of the interns and some (former) diggterns went to a San Francisco Giants game to get together one last time before everyone goes back to school. I am so bummed because everyone is leaving in the next few weeks while I am gone. Basically, the 2008 Summer Interns kicked ass. Straight up. I am so proud to have worked with each and every one of them. I really hope that all of you interns keep in touch with me, because I will sincerely miss your company while screwing around in the Revision3 office/studio. I love you all!
p.s. please welcome Long Vo to InternRow. He is the new intern around these parts.
(p.p.s. I live here in SF so that is why I am staying…probably forever.)
UPDATE: I am not leaving Revision3, I am just going on vacation so i felt compelled to say goodbye to my lovely intern buddies!
Interning at Revision3 is awesome. We get to do work that actually gets noticed/published. Unfortunately for some of my friends, they aren’t so lucky. Why do companies think it’s cool to blog into space?
I wrote a post about it at HackCollege. Check it out: Blogging: The New Shit Job for Interns?
As some of you might know, Revision3 has a kickass Facebook page. We want to interact more with people through Facebook so we are having fans ask questions on our wall and then we will answer the questions with quick videos.
So head on over to our Facebook page and post your questions on the wall!

Check out a little viral video about the iPhone fiascos last week. Several interns were in on the production/conceptualization.
… But nobody could’ve done it without Tyler and AJ, who found the brick.
After a few minutes in the office this morning, a crowd had gathered in the main thoroughfare of the office. Roger Chang was attempting to peddle off some old XBOX games for lunch money. Is this legal?
Scam School producer Eileen won a throw earlier by calling and then rolling a 7.
As I sit here procrastinating on my homework (yes I am taking summer school), I am pondering what to do for the iPhone 3G. Should I wake up at 5AM on Friday and head on down to the Downtown Apple Store? Should I camp out? Should I be worrying about this?
I am not so sure if I want to spend the night on the dirty streets of San Francisco for a phone that probably won’t be too hard to get a hold of. The office has been buzzing about the iPhone 3G for the last week but overall I think we will just play it by ear. Michael Benatar, Patrick Norton, Roger Chang and myself are pumped. I mean straight up pumped. Will you be camping out?
I’ll let you know what we are doing as soon as I know for sure what that is. For now, just know that the Revision3 crew will be at the Downtown San Francisco Apple Store at 8AM on Friday July 11th. We are getting iPhones.
I love riding bikes in San Francisco. I ride my bike to work and school every single day. It is great exercise and generally faster than cars and buses. Last Friday, I decided to go to Critical Mass with some buddies.
Critical Mass is an event typically held on the last Friday of every month in cities around the world where bicyclists and other self-propelled commuters take to the streets en masse.
As I was heading down market street with hundreds of other cyclists, I ran into Kelly and Chris (Revision3 interns!). I knew they were going but I was highly doubtful of actually running into them. We cruised with the pack of cyclists and had a great time. I know that Chris was blown away and was laughing the whole time. Shot a quick video as well:
Have you ever ridden critical mass? Do you ride bikes? Let us know in the comments.
Though some of us have only been here but a few weeks, viewers may have already noticed the intern-influence on some of the Revision3 shows.
Kelly Sutton has appeared on several popSiren pieces, most notably, his debut as an assistant/axe-murderer:
Victor Shwanke, production intern, appeared as a zombie on Internet Superstar: (Note: the still image on the player is not Victor Shwanke, as a zombie.)
Though I work for the most bit-part-ed show on Revision3, I’ve only earned a mention thus far on Internet Superstar. It was quite flattering nonetheless:
Keep an eye out for the interns as our entry-level quest continues…
