I love riding bikes in San Francisco. I ride my bike to work and school every single day. It is great exercise and generally faster than cars and buses. Last Friday, I decided to go to Critical Mass with some buddies.
Critical Mass is an event typically held on the last Friday of every month in cities around the world where bicyclists and other self-propelled commuters take to the streets en masse.
As I was heading down market street with hundreds of other cyclists, I ran into Kelly and Chris (Revision3 interns!). I knew they were going but I was highly doubtful of actually running into them. We cruised with the pack of cyclists and had a great time. I know that Chris was blown away and was laughing the whole time. Shot a quick video as well:
Have you ever ridden critical mass? Do you ride bikes? Let us know in the comments.

Thanks for posting this, I didn’t know about Critical Mass, and I caught it on Market St, took out my pocket cam and starting shooting. It just kept going and going, check it out from a different perspective @ my Vimeo account: http://vimeo.com/1254463
@Ethan Bloch Your welcome man. Be sure to come out and join the party next time! Did I meet you at the Pownce Party? A bunch of us interns were there!
Yo tyler,
we both rolled up to the pownce party on our bikes. I went for a gnarly bike ride on Saturday:
Left my place on folsom and precita, went to check out the pride festival, then I went to embarcadero and rode all the way to laguna street and then I decided to go to golden gate park (unaware of the hills ahead). Cruised through golden gate park and stumbled on a game of sloshball (played for a bit) then headed back home and discovered the “wiggle” - hardly any hills on the way home- pretty fun day that’s transportation consisted solely of bicycling.
Hey Joey!
The pownce party was awesome it was great to meet you.
I love the Wiggle. ride it all the time and it saves me so much energy. Maybe we can go ride sometime
Keep Riding!
That is awesome.
I love riding my bike in my town. But it’s the first time I hear about an event like this… bicycles and cars sharing the streets? I though this only happened in eastern countries…
